STREET HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

LIABILITY WAIVER & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. BY AGREEING TO THIS WAIVER, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE GIVING UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS.

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in the Kinetic Hockey LLC Street Hockey Tournament involves physical activity and inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, contact with other players, sticks, balls, goals, boards, playing surfaces, equipment, spectators, officials, and other objects or persons.

Possible injuries include cuts, bruises, sprains, fractures, concussions, head or dental injuries, illness, permanent disability, paralysis, or death.

I understand that other risks may arise from weather conditions, playing surfaces, equipment failure, the actions of other participants, and other circumstances associated with a competitive sporting event.

I voluntarily choose to participate, or permit my minor child to participate, and knowingly assume these risks.

2. Release of Liability

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the tournament, I release and waive claims against Kinetic Hockey LLC, its owners, members, employees, coaches, referees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, vendors, agents, representatives, insurers, event staff, and the owners or operators of the tournament facility or property, collectively referred to as the “Released Parties.”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this release applies to claims involving injury, illness, death, property damage, or other loss arising from participation in or attendance at the tournament, including claims resulting from the ordinary negligence of a Released Party.

This waiver does not release liability that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

3. Participant Responsibilities

I agree that the participant will follow tournament rules and instructions from officials, referees, staff, and facility personnel.

The participant is responsible for using appropriate protective equipment and for stopping participation if injured or experiencing symptoms that could make continued participation unsafe.

Kinetic Hockey LLC may remove any participant for fighting, dangerous or reckless conduct, abuse of officials or participants, intentional attempts to injure another person, or other conduct deemed unsafe or inappropriate.

4. Health and Medical Treatment

I certify that the participant is physically capable of participating and has no known condition that would make participation unreasonably dangerous.

If an injury or medical emergency occurs, I authorize Kinetic Hockey LLC, tournament personnel, and emergency responders to obtain or provide reasonable emergency medical assistance, including contacting emergency medical services and arranging transportation to a medical facility.

I understand that I am responsible for medical expenses incurred on behalf of myself or my minor child.

5. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses resulting from the participant's actions, misconduct, violation of tournament rules, or damage caused by the participant to another person or property.

6. Personal Property

Kinetic Hockey LLC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, including equipment, clothing, electronics, vehicles, or other belongings, except where liability cannot legally be waived.

7. Photography and Video

I understand that photographs and video may be taken during the tournament.

Unless Kinetic Hockey LLC is notified otherwise in writing before the event, I grant Kinetic Hockey LLC permission to use photographs or video of the participant for its website, social media, advertising, tournament promotion, and other promotional purposes without additional compensation.

8. Minors

If the participant is under 18 years old, I certify that I am the participant's parent or legal guardian and have authority to agree to this waiver on the participant's behalf.

I consent to the minor's participation and acknowledge and accept the risks associated with the tournament.

To the fullest extent permitted by Maryland law, I agree individually and on behalf of the minor participant to the terms of this waiver.

9. Governing Law and Severability

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.

If any part of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Acknowledgment

By accepting this waiver, I acknowledge that I have read and understand its terms, understand the risks associated with participating in street hockey, voluntarily accept those risks, and understand that I am releasing certain legal claims against Kinetic Hockey LLC and the other Released Parties.

I understand that acceptance of this waiver is required for participation in the Kinetic Hockey Street Hockey Tournament.
